Trigger warning:
I’m talking about Chris Brown, specifically his history of abusive behavior. If that’s something that might be triggering for you, feel free to click away. Take care of yourself first.
I don’t see much of Chris Brown on my feed, my algorithm rarely surfaces his content, which honestly, I prefer. But today, it did. I saw a promo video for his new song? It included a dance that’s probably going viral.
Then I scrolled again and saw a meme that said:
“People wanna deny Chris Brown’s talent just because of his mistake.”
And I had to stop and think.
Here’s the thing: I don’t think people understand how powerful violence is. Violence overshadows everything. It weighs more than your best performance, your most creative moment, your most beloved song. Violence carries a gravity that talent just can’t undo.
So yes, I do believe Chris Brown could have been a massive star. Bigger than he is. I think more people would openly support his work, play his albums, and celebrate his artistry. But the violence he choses to inflict on others outweighs all of that. Every time.
And that’s the power violence holds. It stains everything. After so many offenses, these are choices and patterns.
Honestly, he should be grateful for the career and wealth he still has. He got a whole delusional fan base. He should love on them more-
