A free idea

An idea I want to give away for anyone who is out of them! It. It’s free game. Take it, run with it, make it your own.

The concept is simple: create a seasonal experience that engages all the senses. It can be a group effort (a handful of people, each committing to one sense), or a solo project if you’re someone who enjoys dabbling in multiple creative outlets.

The experience could take shape in two ways:

  • Layered performance: 2-3 parts unfolding together, each sense activated one after another.
  • Immersive walkthrough: one large experience, with different rooms or areas dedicated to each sense, so people literally move through sound, sight, touch, smell, and taste.

The theme can be anything but the most powerful versions are rooted in a moment in time. Think of it as recreating a memory that others can step inside.

  • Sight: photography, videography, or visuals that set the mood.
  • Smell & Taste: cooking, drinks, or food that anchor the theme.
  • Touch: sculpture, installations, or textures to feel and explore.
  • Sound: music, soundscapes, or live performance.

For example, imagine the theme is “a childhood house party.” The visuals could be photos or video clips styled to look like the 90s or early 2000s. The smell and taste could come from recreating the snacks, drinks, or foods that defined that moment. The feel could be a sculptural installation, like furniture, toys, or even walls designed to echo that vibe. The sound could be a playlist of the songs that would’ve been blasting through the speakers.

Or take it even bigger: a Chicago block party. That’s a memory almost every Chicagoan can connect to, across generations. Picture one room filled with the sound of old-school house music and the smell of barbecue on the grill. Another room with visuals of kids running through open hydrants or double dutch ropes. A corner where the textures of folding chairs, fire hydrants, and brick walls ground the experience. And of course, food that takes you right back hot links, chips, snow cones, all of it.

Whether it’s intimate or expansive, solo or collaborative, the key is simple: pick a theme, engage every sense, and let people leave feeling like they lived someone else’s moment in time.

ok that is all. enjoy my idea. If you take it and need help lmk lol
